A new ground heave protection product has arrived! The supplier is Jablite, a leading manufacturer of EPS (expanded polystyrene) construction products, well-known for its innovations.
Jablite’s new ground engineering product is engineered – and BBA-certified – to protect buildings from vertical ground or clay heave, “We wanted to provide ground workers and structural engineers with a new product option for vertical ground heave protection,” explains Richard Lee, Managing Director, Jablite.
“We have made our Jablite ground heave solution (vertical) extremely good value and, we have listened to customer feedback and the boards are designed in an easy-to-handle 1200 x 1200 size to enable faster installations.
“This smaller size removes the problem of the competitors’ unwieldy large boards that are difficult to handle on windy days and, as site managers have told us, can cause health and safety issues when they blow around the site,” adds Richard.
With two in-house Civil Engineers, Jablite provides market-leading technical and design support for its civil, infrastructure and ground engineering range and this new product is no exception.
All Jablite Ground Heave Protection (vertical) boards meet the NHBC’s technical standards and come with a bonded polypropylene top and bottom sheet. The bottom sheet is a Jablite innovation and removes the need for a sand and cement blinding layer on site.
The product range for Jablite Ground Heave Protection (vertical) includes slab, beam or insulated slab boards. All of which are easily specified to meet the concrete load and the site requirements. Our handy Specification Guide can help you work out which is the best option for your site.
As well as the standard performance boards, Jablite can offer bespoke ground heave protection (vertical) boards that are engineered to meet specific site requirements and to provide exactly the compressive performance required. These bespoke boards are also BBA-certified.
