From today, Jablite offers an inverted roof insulation range accredited by Kiwa that achieves thermal conductivity values of 0.031 for Premium+ 200 grade insulation and 0.033 for Premium 200 and 300 grade insulation.
“We are delighted to bring this opportunity to system suppliers and roofing contractors,” says Leon Horobin, Jablite’s roofing team.
“It means that Jablite’s unique moulded, water-resistant bead EPS (expanded polystyrene) insulation boards can compete on an even playing field with XPS insulation and offer a cost-effective, thermal performance that will not deteriorate over the lifetime of the building.”
Jablite has established itself as the leading supplier of EPS insulation for inverted roof applications in the UK and this new Kiwa accreditation means that Jablite’s moulded EPS boards can also be used on green roofs and as a tapered alternative on an inverted roof – helping to deal with the issues raised in BS 6229:2018.
Steve Broadhurst, Technical Services Director of Expanding Solutions, who pioneered the Kiwa accreditation on behalf of Jablite explains, “Our patented tapered inverted roof insulation is designed to create the drainage fall specified and removes the need for an additional concrete screed to provide the fall.
“It saves time in the build process and offers a lightweight, bespoke-factory-produced taper for any roof design. We also wanted to meet the increased demand for brown and intensive green roofs and, with our new Kiwa-accredited insulation, we do exactly that offering thermal conductivity values of 0.033 for Premium+ 200 grade and 0.035 for Premium 200 and 300 grade.
“An additional benefit to specifiers and main contractors is that our EPS insulation is 100% recyclable and achieves an A or an A+ rating in the BRE Green Guide, providing a new sustainable option. We will even provide an off-cut recycling collection service if required,” adds Steve.
Jablite is a brand that is known for its innovation and customer service and as Richard Lee, Managing Director, says this new offer bring the two together, “Expanding Solutions decided to explore this further and we are now able to offer our customers an accredited alternative to XPS insulation for inverted roofs. I am sure that, this combined with our outstanding customer service is a winning combination!”
