After my first two weeks at Jablite, I truly believe I have learnt the prized and critical life lesson; thrusting yourself beyond
your comfort zone and growing within whatever you desire – in this case, my career.
First off, I have been welcomed into a new ‘Marketing Executive’ role, as well as entering into a whole new industry – construction. Jablite, a leader in the thermal insulation market, as well as having an intrinsic influence within the infrastructure and civil engineering sphere, have offered a well integrated induction and training programme for me to be well adjusted into the business.
Another area, that has fascinated me since I started at Jablite, is the actual Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) goods they produce. It may not be an important issue for certain individuals when looking for a new job, however, I am very pleased to be a part of a company where their environmental impact is very good – especially within the manufacturing process.
Unquestionably, the treatment from my fellow colleagues and peers within the workplace environment has been amazing. Honestly, from tea making offers to genuine advice, filling me in with latest knowledge on the EPS products market scene, I have been made to feel very much at home.
Additionally, the luxurious overnight stay in the wedding suite at the ‘Loftsome Bridge Coaching House’, allowed a small Kent woman, like myself, the opportunity to stay the night in a deluxe 4 poster bed. Not a big deal for some, but I slept very gracefully that night.
I have also been able to view two of the company sites and factories, based at Belvedere and Howden. Also taking part, in the initial stages, of Jablite’s exclusive product, ‘All-In-One’ TFS product (Thermal Floor System) – an unforgettable memory. Not to miss out the obvious, my inspiring and multi-talented line manager Bridget, who is really bringing the potential out of me with new projects such as press releases and this new blog. (Side bar – Jablite know how to look after their own).
Finally, the experience so far has been an interesting one, every day is different and brings with it, new challenges and trials, in the best way – and I am ready to meet the challenge and ultimately grow.
