    As developers and civil engineers look for ways to address the problem of clay heave, Jablite has seen an increase in demand for its Claymaster product. The problem with clay is that it contracts when dry and expands when wet, causing heave. Clay heave can also occur as a result of stress 'relief' where the removal of soil from an excavation can cause heave as the clay tries regain its original volume. Clay heave can have a devastating effect on structural foundations and is particularly prevalent in areas of the UK where the ground contains a high proportion of tiny mineral particles below 0.002mm.
